Daryl Dixon Just Killed The Walking Dead’s Spanish Royal Family

Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3, episode 7, “Solaz del Mar”.

Ever since the wildfire virus started to spread, The Walking Dead has avoided giving many survivors celebrity status, but Daryl Dixon just killed one of the franchise’s most famous figures yet. In the original show’s early seasons, pretty much every named character was simply an ordinary person trying to survive, but that all changed with the introduction of Beta.

Despite becoming one of The Walking Dead‘s most powerful villains, Beta was secretly a famous musician before joining the Whisperers, where he adopted a new identity. The outbreak caused him to transform into a completely different person, with his sinister actions eventually resulting in a brutal death at the hands of Daryl and Negan in season 10.

Remarkably, this is no longer the most well-known person Daryl has killed in the zombie universe. Considering he has the highest kill count in The Walking Dead, it shouldn’t be too surprising that Daryl has caused the demise of some influential people, but his latest victims were arguably among some of the world’s most famous individuals.

As if killing a popular musician wasn’t extreme enough, Daryl can now add the Spanish Royal Family to his list of victims. While Spain isn’t an entirely safe country in The Walking Dead, it does still have some thriving communities, and clearly the elites managed to stay intact based on El Alcázar’s existence.

The community consisted of wealthy people who were seemingly powerful before the world fell apart, even using women from other settlements as potential wives to unmarried men. However, their reign came to an end when Daryl and Paz infiltrated their stronghold in Daryl Dixon season 3’s ending, causing chaos to unfold.

After posing as a masked worker, Daryl freed a group of zombies that were being used as part of a performance, which caused the King and Princess of Spain to be bitten. His plan also led to Paz killing the future king, meaning that while he didn’t directly murder any of them, Daryl is responsible for eliminating Spain’s Royal Family.

Daryl Has Now Taken Down 2 Governing Communities In His Solo Spinoff

Ever since arriving in Europe, Daryl has caused quite a storm, as El Alcázar is now the second governing body he has taken down in his spinoff. Not only did he cause the death of Spain’s Royal Family, but he also burned down their main stronghold, leading to El Alcázar becoming overrun and the entire community crumbling.

Amazingly, it’s the second time he’s taken down a country’s most powerful faction, as he did the exact same in France. Pouvoir held authority over most of post-apocalyptic France, yet through the help of some good-hearted people, Daryl was able to kill the group’s leader and bring a sense of peace to the country.

His defeat of Pouvoir didn’t seem quite as definitive compared to El Alcázar, but he certainly did some damage on his way out of France, proving that even the strongest communities in The Walking Dead can’t stop Daryl Dixon.
