The 2026 Spring Season of anime is finally here, and it’s not an exaggeration to say that it has brought some amazing franchises with it. Crunchyroll has always been home to some of the best anime around, and this April, that hasn’t changed a bit.
Most, if not basically all, anime series usually debut with a single episode. Fans may get lucky with a double-episode premiere, but that’s extremely rare.
Classroom of the Elite, one of the best edgy anime series of all time, premiered with not one, not two, but four outstanding episodes to showcase the arrival of the long-awaited fourth season, creating the perfect binge-fest on Crunchyroll this weekend.
Classroom of the Elite Premiered with Four Episodes
Classroom of the Elite’s fourth season is here, and it’s animating the first term of the second year at the Tokyo Advanced Nurturing High School. Ayanokoji Kiyotaka is the smartest character in anime, and he’s back for another school year when he has to face off against a myriad of threats hidden around every turn.
Classroom of the Elite has generously premiered with a whopping four episodes. It’s a month’s worth of content released in a single day, and each episode is better than the last. The new season showcases Class 1-D as they become second-years and introduces a whole new batch of first-years who are much smarter than they let on.
Winter 2026’s 10 Best Anime Series, Ranked
With the season drawing to a close, now it’s the perfect time to look back at the best anime of Winter 2026 that everyone should check out.
The fourth season of the show looks like it’ll consist of 16 episodes in total, animating a good portion of the manga’s Second-Year Saga. Classroom of the Elite is a modern-day psychological treat, and the fourth season already looks like it’s living up to expectations.
There Isn’t Another Series like It
To say that Classroom of the Elite is a modern-day great is a major understatement. There aren’t any series quite like it, and it’s easy to see why. When other series try to be edgy, they’re rarely succesful. They usually make their protagonists too strong, make side characters too weak, and create a disjointed and all too unreal narrative.
Edgy is where Classroom of the Elite excels. It’s at its best when Ayanokoji is seen orchestrating the events of the series masterfully, or when other characters are doing their best to plot against him. It’s unapologetic in its actions, and it’s willing to showcase drama on an entirely different level than other franchises.
For the first time in three seasons, Ayanokoji Kiyotaka has decided to go all out. He’s done living in the middle of the pack and has decided to lead from the front, and there probably isn’t a single character who can stop him. It’s an incredibly exciting change for both the character and the series, and it feels like Classroom of the Elite is about to take itself into high gear.
