Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has been ruled out for three games after developing concussion symptoms after the Carabao Cup third round win against Lincoln City on the road.
The Frenchman has had an injury-plagued career with the Blues and he has now suffered another unexpected setback. He developed concussion symptons after the 2-1 win over Lincoln and can’t play for the next fortnight.
As a result, he will be sidelined for the games against Brighton & Hove Albion, Benfica and Liverpool. His absence is a huge blow, given Tosin Adarabioyo has also picked up an injury of his own.
Chelsea recently ended a three-match winless run with a victory over Lincoln in the Carabao Cup. They will be aiming for back-to-back wins when they host Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues will also be without the services of Cole Palmer. He won’t feature for the next few weeks in order to recover from a groin issue.
