Cucurella out with hamstring injury

Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella is set to miss the FA Cup fourth round tie against Hull City on the road with a hamstring injury.

The Spaniard sustained the setback during the 2-2 Premier League draw against Leeds United at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

He was not spotted in yesterday’s training session and reports claim that the former Brighton man could be sidelined for some period.

He is assured to miss the FA Cup tie at Hull on Friday night and it remains to be seen whether he will be fit for the forthcoming league fixtures.

Chelsea are currently just two points ahead of sixth-placed Liverpool in the league standings and need to return to winning ways soon.

Fifth spot could be enough to make the Champions League next term.

In Cucurella’s absence, Malo Gusto and Jorrel Hato are expected to share the duties in the left-back position for the next few matches.

Hato came on in the second half of the Leeds draw in midweek.
