Madueke suffers hamstring injury

Chelsea winger Noni Madueke could be ruled out for some period following a hamstring injury against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.

The Englishman sustained the injury in the first half of the league clash and was subsequently replaced by Jadon Sancho.

The extent of the setback has yet to be revealed, but it seems the winger could be sidelined for the next few weeks at least.

Chelsea have had a tough time with injuries. They are presently short in the final third with Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu also out with hamstring problems of their own.

The Blues will have to cope with their absence over the coming weeks. It presents a tough challenge for a young squad with potential.

The west London giants looked on course for a top-four finish in December, and it was suggested that they could challenge for the title too.

However, their form has nosedived over the past few months and they face a huge challenge to finish in the top four now.
