Chelsea midfielder Dario Essugo has been sidelined until March after suffering a fresh thigh injury, according to The Athletic.
The Portuguese joined the Blues from Sporting CP last summer, but has yet to make a competitive appearance due to his injury woes.
The 20-year-old first suffered a thigh injury in September. He managed to return to the squad to face Arsenal earlier last month.
However, he has suffered another recurrence of his thigh injury and reports claim that he won’t return to action for another four weeks.
The news is a huge concern for the Blues, who have also been without Romeo Lavia due to his persistent injuries over recent years.
This is expected to urge the Blues to spend in the transfer market in the summer. Lavia seems a strong candidate to be sold by them.
The Blues have their sights on Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton. Neither will come on the cheap. A deal could cost at least £80m.
