Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing River Plate wonderkid Ian Subiabre when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Blues have focused on bolstering their attack with young quality talent, and Subiabre has been identified as an ideal fit.
The 18-year-old has made 48 appearances in his young career thus far. He has chipped in with eight goals and nine assists.
Subiabre is a right winger by trade, but he has also found success as a centre-forward or on the left side of River’s attack.
His progress has been compared to Julian Alvarez, who made the switch from River to Manchester City a few years ago.
Alvarez has since moved on to Atletico Madrid where he has established himself as one of the best forwards in La Liga.
Subiabre has a release clause worth €30 million in his contract and it appears the Blues could trigger the reported fee, having made contact with his agent.
River are keen to avoid the situation by increasing the clause to €100m with a renewal, but they have not been successful so far.
