Bournemouth are to complete a deal to sign Dorde Petrovic from Chelsea worth around £12.5 million including add-ons. The Serbian international has been told that he is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and will be allowed to leave this summer.
Petrovic will move to the Cherries as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga, last season’s first choice goalie. Kepa returned to his parent club, Chelsea, before making a permanent move to Arsenal. Petrovic has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, behind Robert Sanchez, and Chelsea could even move for another goalkeeper signing before the transfer window slams shut. 25-year-old Petrovic will be guaranteed the number 1 jersey at Bournemouth, and will likely sign a five-year contract.
Petrovic spent last season on loan at French club Strasbourg, impressing in the process, but the French outfit were unable to pay for a permanent deal for the shot stopper. Prior to the 2024-25 season, Petrovic played 23 times in the Premier League for Chelsea, and so has some English top flight experience. It is understood that a deal will be completed this week.
