Chelsea are interested in 17-year-old prodigy Mohamed Kader Meite, currently playing for Ligue 1 French outfit Rennes. With 16 top flight appearances under his belt already, with three goals, the 17-year-old starlet is fast becoming recognised as one of Europe’s best young attacking prospects.
Emerging through Rennes’ youth team from 2022 to 2024, the starlet eventually had been given a chance with Rennes’ reserve team and impressed with four goals in 11 appearances.
Meite has played for France’s under-16, under-17 and under-19 side, and is hopeful that an opportunity for France’s international side in the near future if he continues to impress.
Chelsea are scouring Europe for the brightest prospects, and in Meite the Blues are confident that they are securing a deal for a wonderkid.
Meite will turn 18-years-old next month and caught the eye scoring his first goal against Nantes and then two further finishes against Lyon. Meite has a contract until 2028, and could be allowed to leave the French side for around 25 million euros should Rennes decide to cash in on the youngster.
