Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Sporting CP midfielder Dario Essugo for €22 million this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 20-year-old midfielder is currently on a season-long loan with Las Palmas where he has already made 19 appearances across all competitions.
His performances have caught the eye of several clubs including Manchester United, but Chelsea have won the race to secure his services from Sporting.
They have agreed to pay around €22m for the Portuguese. He is expected to join the Blues as soon as the transfer window reopens this summer.
He becomes the second player from Sporting CP to sign for the Blues this year. Geovany Quenda will formally join the club in July 2026.
Quenda was on the radar of United earlier this campaign, but he was convinced to join the Blues. He underwent his medical on Thursday.
Chelsea are expected to continue their spending spree in the summer. They are likely to recruit a marquee striker prior to pre-season.
