USA’s long-running procedural hit White Collar is returning in a brand-new revival by the show’s original creator, and several returning cast members are also attached to White Collar Renaissance. Debuting in 2009, the series concerns a con-man named Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) whose career as a criminal comes to an end when he strikes a deal with the FBI to help them bring down high-profile white-collar criminals. Shifting the focus of the procedural to involve the world of corporate crime, White Collar was as funny as it was poignant during its six-season original run.
Much to the chagrin of audiences, the show was eventually canceled in 2014 and faded into the background amid a rising tide of other alternative procedurals which dotted the TV landscape at the time. However, perhaps emboldened by the streaming success of shows like Suits, the fate of White Collar was not sealed by its premature cancelation over a decade ago. Now, a revival of the show is in the works that aims to continue the legacy of the original series while delivering the classic White Collar charm in the modern day.

White Collar Renaissance Is Confirmed
The Show’s Original Creator Is Returning
Coming a decade after the show was canceled by USA, a revival of White Collar has been confirmed from the series’ original creator. Announced at a media event hosted by Variety in June 2024, series originator Jeff Eastin revealed that White Collar would be returning in a continuation featuring several of the original actors.
White Collar aired its final episode on December 18, 2014.
Joining him on the panel were series stars Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay and Tiffani Thiessen who have all confirmed that they will be returning to their roles. Though no details are known about the series’ story, Eastin will be writing the scripts himself in what is being pegged as a fitting tribute to the original series. In the months since the announcement of the revival, Eastin has completed the scripts and turned them over to the studio. Unfortunately, Hulu won’t be hosting the series as originally planned, and it will now be shopped to other streamers.
Speaking of the upcoming series, Tim Dekay said:
It’s a fantastic script, and it answers all the questions that one would have if you watch the show, and it would introduce the show to those who haven’t seen it as well. Both edges of the sword are honed. It honors Willie, too, in a profound way. With such sensitivity and such heart. I told Jeff after I finished it, I literally was so excited, but at the same time, had tears in my eyes — for good reason. You captured the suspense, the thrill, the characters and the love in that reboot.
White Collar Renaissance Cast
Matt Bomer Is Returning To The Lead Role
Garson sadly passed away in 2021, but the series is reportedly being written to honor the late actor.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the newly announced White Collar Renaissance is that several of the original series’ stars are returning to reprise their roles. Chiefly among them is the show’s lead, Matt Bomer, who is once again going to play elusive con-man Neal Caffrey, who cuts a deal with the FBI in exchange for clemency for his financial crimes. Neal’s various cons were some of the most entertaining parts of the original series, and the revival is already stronger for having Bomer on hand to reprise the role.
Joining Bomer are his former co-stars Tim DeKay and Tiffani Thiessen, with DeKay reprising his role as straight-laced FBI Agent Peter Burke who is in charge of the New York City field office. Likewise, Thiessen is reprising her role as Elizabeth Burke, Peter’s wife who often assists him in his cases. One notable absence from the cast will be Willie Garson who famously played the role of fellow con-man Mozzie throughout the series. Garson sadly passed away in 2021, but the series is reportedly being written to honor the late actor.
The confirmed cast of White Collar Renaissance includes:
Actor | White Collar Renaissance Role | |
|---|---|---|
Matt Bomer | Neal Caffrey |
|
Tim DeKay | Peter Burke |
|
Tiffani Thiessen | Elizabeth Burke |

More Financial Crimes Cases Are Expected
Like most procedurals, the premise of White Collar is rather simple, and each episode usually follows a similar structure. The revival will likely continue that trend as Neal continues to use his conning skills to help bring down white-collar criminals. The shifting political landscape and technological advancements of the last 10 years offers new opportunities for storytelling in White Collar Renaissance, and its expected that the new series will add a few wrinkles to keep things fresh and interesting.
