Bosch: Legacy sadly came to an end in April of this year, but luckily Titus Welliver already has another crime series lined up that fans of his iconic detective can get behind. After leading both Bosch and Bosch: Legacy‘s cast since 2014, Welliver and his character have become beloved by fans, making it hard to say goodbye to the series.
Though Bosch: Legacy season 3’s ending set the titular character up to return in Prime Video’s new spinoff, Ballard, Welliver’s Harry Bosch is no longer the leading star of the franchise. Luckily, despite Bosch: Legacy‘s cancellation, Titus Welliver will return to screens with a promising replacement crime drama series.

Harry Bosch is indisputably his best known within this category, but his new series will bring Welliver back into the same territory. The Role Will Give The Bosch: Legacy Actor Something New To Dive Into
Bosch and Bosch: Legacy were incredibly entertaining throughout their runs, and Welliver was phenomenal in the role. It was impossible not to get hooked on the shows’ interesting cases. With that being said, though, Bosch‘s cases were largely fictional, which is where The Westies can carve its own niche.
Because the New York setting and 1980s timeframe are so rich, there will be numerous real issues that The Westies can dive into.
The Westies is based on a real gang and real tensions that existed in Hell’s Kitchen during that time. This historical basis will allow the upcoming MGM+ series to explore real events and elements within that specific world. This distinction from Bosch will allow Titus Welliver to do a lot with the role. While audiences trust that he can portray a hardened cop character, he will be in a completely different world from present-day Los Angeles. Thus, while Bosch: Legacy fans can look forward to some similarities, The Westies will allow Welliver to create something new.
