Born Again Star Has Shocking Take On Foggy’s Death

Elden Henson, the actor behind Foggy Nelson, recently revealed his surprising reaction to his character’s death in Daredevil: Born Again.

Daredevil: Born Again is a critically acclaimed Disney+ series. It is a revival of the original Netflix series, which ran from 2015 to 2018. The story follows the journey of the titular vigilante as he fights against the corrupt Mayor Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin. The show maintains the dark and grounded tone of the original Daredevil series while exploring Murdock’s struggle to balance his legal career with his secret identity.

The emotional fallout from the major character’s death in Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again season 1 took a toll on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The decision to kill off Foggy early in the series has not only redefined Matt Murdock’s journey on screen but has also triggered strong reactions from both fans and the actors involved. While most people were distraught about the loss, Hensen had felt differently after he read the script for the very first time.

During a panel at C2E2 2026, Henson revealed that he was oddly satisfied with the tragedy. He further elaborated, explaining how he thought the scene was very well-written. Although he was sad that his time on Daredevil: Born Again was so short, he was happy that he had the opportunity to play the fan-favorite character. The actor added that he was also glad that both he and Foggy were able to receive some closure.

When I read [the scene], I actually thought it was a really great scene. I was into it. It’s a bummer when something comes to an end. I don’t know, I felt pretty lucky to have played him, and at least there was some sort of closure.

Charlie Cox, on the other hand, felt the complete opposite. The actor, who portrays the titular superhero, said that he was very upset, not only because Daredevil would be losing someone who was such a big part of his life, but also because it meant he would no longer be able to see Henson on set every day. He even described the moment as “traumatic.” He also expressed the importance of Foggy and Matt’s friendship both in the comics and on screen, calling it the most “beautiful” one in both Marvel Comics and the MCU.

I haven’t read a huge amount of other comics outside of Daredevil, but I struggle to think of a more beautiful, obvious friendship than the Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson friendship. The loss of Foggy and the loss of Elden, my friend on set every day, that’s traumatic. It’s hard.

Meanwhile, fans remain just as divided as the cast. Some view Foggy’s death as a bold storytelling choice that raises the stakes. Others see it as an unnecessary loss that removes a key source of warmth and balance from the series. Regardless of where audiences stand, the decision has undeniably sparked conversations and ensured that Daredevil: Born Again remains an integral part of the MCU.
