Barcelona star Fermin Lopez has clarified that he did not contemplate a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
The Spain international was touted to move to Stamford Bridge last month and the Blues made an opening bid worth €40 million euros for his services.
However, the proposal was swiftly rejected by the Catalan giants, who were firm on keeping him regardless of the transfer fee on the table.
Speaking to RAC1, Lopez has now revealed that he did not think about the prospect of leaving the Blaugrana amid interest from the Blues.
He said: “I didn’t think about it. I never had the intention of leaving and I think the club didn’t want to sell me.”
Lopez has managed less than 200 minutes of regular playing time in La Liga this season, but he has still scored a couple of goals.
The Spaniard is clearly happy to stay with the Blaugrana despite his limited minutes. Manager Hansi Flick is likewise an admirer of him.
