Barcelona ready to trigger Rashford clause

Barcelona have long mulled over Marcus Rashford and whether to turn the Manchester United forward’s loan into a permanent transfer for €30million, and according to Sport, they’ve now decided to do so. An agreement over personal terms on a three-year contract is already in place.

Rashford had difficulty in getting his quality recognized at United under Ruben Amorim, as well as Erik ten Hag before, and he spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. Last summer, he joined Barcelona and he looks rejuvenated in their ranks under the guidance of Hansi Flick. In all competitions, the 68-cap England international has scored 10 goals and produced 13 assists across 35 matches for Barcelona.

There was some talk of Barcelona not being willing to trigger the €30million clause to turn the loan into a permanent deal, that they would rather try and persuade United to accept a lower fee, but the 20-time English champions held firm, forcing the Catalan club to eventually accept paying the agreed amount.
