Aston Villa are considering a surprise move to sign Arsenal target Joan Garcia this summer, according to Marca.
The Villans currently have Emiliano Martinez as their number one goalkeeper, but he could head for the exit door soon.
Martinez has received an interesting proposal from Saudi Arabia and he could earn several times of his current salary.
The club have identified Garcia as their successor and it remains to be seen whether they can convince the Spaniard.
Garcia agreed personal terms with Arsenal last summer, but a deal did not materialise before the transfer deadline.
However, the Gunners remain keen on landing his signature and the 23-year-old would be open to joining the club.
Garcia is seen as a deputy to David Raya for next season. Villa will hope to persuade him with the number one position.
Espanyol are prepared to sanction his sale for his release clause worth £21m. They are willing to accept staggered payments.
