Real Madrid and Brazil international Rodrygo has opened talks with his agent as he seeks a move away from his current club. It is understood that newly appointed Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso does not see a future for the winger, and with Arsenal rumoured to be interested, the talented youngster could be headed for the Premier League shortly.
Rodrygo has not been a starter in Real Madrid’s last five games at the Club World Cup in the USA, indicating to many pundits that the player is set to leave, but also a possibility that transfer negotations with Arsenal are already well under way.
Arsenal are desperate to sign backup for both Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, and are rumoured to be in the race for Noni Madueke. However, Gunners’ fans are optimistic that Rodrygo is indeed the player that will be at the Emirates next season.
No other clubs are reportedly ready to match Rodrygo’s transfer fee, which is said to be around 80 million euros at this time. Arsenal are likely to spend close to £200 million on new faces this summer.
