Saka could start vs Real Madrid

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is aiming to return to first-team action ahead of the Champions League quarter-finals against Real Madrid next month.

The England international has been on the sidelines since late December due to a hamstring injury, but he is poised to return after the interlul.

Saka has started training on the grass and he is expected to resume contact training with some of his teammates during the ongoing week.

The Gunners ideally want him back in the matchday squad against Fulham on April 1, though he may not make the starting line-up for the derby.

Saka could also make a cameo appearance against Everton. The Gunners ace is reportedly preparing to start against Madrid in Europe.

Arsenal take on Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 at home on April 8 with the return leg eight days later.

Saka’s presence in the XI would be a huge boost for the Gunners.
