Arsenal have finally secured a £48.5 million deal for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, with the player signing a long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium. Madueke, who has been brought in as an option on both the left and right wing, will take a week off having represented his former club at the Club World Cup, before linking up with the Gunners for pre-season training.
Numerous Arsenal fans were unhappy with the possibility of Madueke’s arrival, instead preferring Rodrygo, however Madueke has indeed joined the Gunners.
Madueke told the club’s official website: “It’s already a great team with a clear identity and I can’t wait to bring my style to the team and try and help the boys as much as possible to take that next step.
“I try and be a dual threat from the left and from the right. Of course, it’s a little different when I play on the left or when I play on the right, but it doesn’t really matter to me where I play. I only really have one thought in my mind when I get the ball to feet or in space, it is just to line up the full-back and go past him.
“I’m very happy, very excited to get to work. I’ll go on holiday for a little bit now, but I can’t wait to get back and meet all the boys and train.”
Madueke previously played for PSV Eindhoven between 2018 and 2023 and had also come through Tottenham‘s youth team ranks.
