Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira suffered a knee injury while playing for Hamburg in the Bundesliga last weekend, according to Kicker.
The Portuguese playmaker signed for the German outfit on loan with an option to buy for 20 million euros at the end of the campaign.
Vieira has started his first three games for Hamburg. At the weekend, he played 98 minutes before receiving a red card against Union Berlin.
In the process, he also picked up a knee injury and reports claim that he could be sidelined for a while after the unfortunate setback on the field.
Vieira will obviously be suspended after his red card for violent conduct, but there are claims that he could be sidelined for much longer due to injury.
The former Porto graduate has failed to live up to expectations over the past few years and the last injury setback is a huge blow for the Gunners as well as himself.
Hopefully, he can return as soon as possible such that he can capitalise on the loan spell and secure a permanent transfer to the Bundesliga side.
