Zubimendi returns from Spain duty with injury

Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi has returned early from international duty with an injury, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Spaniard has been a key player for the Gunners in the heart of the midfield and he has played almost every game for the club.

Zubimendi recently came on as a substitute for Spain and has now been permitted to return to the Gunners due to an injury concern.

He will be assessed by the Gunners’ medical staff, but the fans will be hoping that there is nothing serious with a huge season run-in coming up.

Arsenal are active in three competitions and have the chance to win the Premier League title for the first time after 22 long years.

Zubimendi has been ever-present alongside Declan Rice in the centre of the park and his services will be required by the London giants.

Christian Norgaard is the immediate deputy in the club’s ranks, but manager Mikel Arteta has yet to start him in the league this season.
