Tomiyasu out until December after knee surgery


Arsenal have been handed a big blow with defender Takehiro Tomiyasu set to be sidelined until December after knee surgery.

The Japan international has had an injury-plagued career with the Gunners. He played just six minutes this campaign before undergoing another knee operation.

The Gunners did not reveal the timeline for his comeback, but reports claim that the versatile defender won’t be available for the next nine months.

He could make his return to training in early December, provided there are no setbacks. It could be a similar case for Gabriel Jesus.

Jesus suffered a serious knee injury in the FA Cup third round against Manchester United. He is likewise out for the long term.

Arsenal have had a tough campaign due to several injuries, and they are currently 13 points behind league leaders Liverpool.

The Gunners look set to miss out on the league title once more. They could have a busy summer ahead with plenty of spending.
