Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber is presently on the sidelines with a groin injury, according to The Daily Mail.

The Netherlands international suffered the setback during the first half of the Premier League clash against Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

He subsequently missed the next couple of games against Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester City, and has since withdrawn from international duty.

Timber is still struggling with a groin issue, and reports claim that he is racing against time to be fit for the FA Cup quarter-final at Southampton.

If Timber is deemed unfit, Ben White looks the likely candidate to start at right-back, having done so in the last two games across all competitions.

Arsenal face the Saints in the FA Cup quarter-final before taking on Sporting CP in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final away.

This will be followed by a home league game against Bournemouth. The Gunners will hope that Timber can recover to start one of those matches.
