Arsenal have reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon over the transfer of striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The Gunners have held a long-term interest in the Sweden international, and they have eventually sealed an agreement for his services.
Arsenal will pay €63.5m up front with €10m in add-ons. The player’s agent has waived his 10 percent commission to push through the deal.
Gyokeres has been determined to join the Gunners for the past few weeks and he recently skipped training at Sporting to push through a move.
This did not go well with the hierarchy at Sporting and Gyokeres is expected to send an apology letter before moving to the London giants.
Gyokeres netted a staggering 54 goals alongside 13 assists last season. He is in the form of his life and should be an upgrade upfront for Arsenal.
The Gunners are expected to continue their spending spree. Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera are also due to join in the next couple of days.
