The best characters in anime are the ones that can fight every other character in their series at once and come out unscathed. There are plenty of strong characters out there, but few can take on their entire franchise at the same time. Characters like Tanjiro Kamado from Demon Slayer are close to the strongest, but even Tanjiro couldn’t take on multiple Upper Rank Demons simultaneously.
Most of the strongest characters in anime that can solo their respective series define their franchise through their power. It’s not often that an overpowered character isn’t at the center of their series. Characters that can take on their entire series at once are either hilarious or brutal, and sometimes, they’re both. No matter what their personality is like, their strength defines them, giving enemies a reason to fear them and their allies an almost unstoppable level of hope.

Ainz Ooal Gown
Overlord
Overlord is one of the darkest isekai series of all time, and a lot of that has to do with how absurdly strong Ainz Ooal Gown is. Overlord is a unique isekai because it allows the main character to become a titular Overlord. While most other isekai protagonists have to save the new world they find themselves in, Ainz couldn’t care less.
Ainz is so much stronger than every other character in the series it’s hard to understand. At one point in the series, he killed over 100,000 enemy soldiers in less than a few minutes, showing that he operates at an entirely different level from those around him.

Anos Voldigoad
The Misfit of Demon King Academy
The Misfit of Demon King Academy stars the former Demon King reincarnated into the same world he died in hundreds of years ago. Anos Voldigoad comes back to his world with all the same powers he had when he left, and even after hundreds of years, nobody has nearly as much strength as the Demon King of Tyranny.
One of the best reasons to watch The Misfit of Demon King Academy is to see just how much of an advantage Anos has over his enemies. Each of the villains in the series thinks they have an edge on the former Demon King, only to get eviscerated by easily the strongest magic in the series.

Misumi Makoto
Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy
Misumi Makoto started as one of the strongest characters in Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy, and somehow, he’s only gotten stronger. He was scorned by the Goddess who brought him to his new world and has dedicated his life to getting his revenge. With his powerful allies beside him, he may be getting his revenge on her sooner than he thought.
Makoto is so strong that when he concentrates deeply, his physical body disappears. He becomes one with the mana around him, a feat no other character in the series can pull off. If Makoto wanted to, he could easily defeat all the characters in Tsukimichi single-handedly.

Shigeo Kageyama (Mob)
Mob Psycho 100
Mob from Mob Psycho 100 is one of the sweetest characters in anime, but that doesn’t mean that he couldn’t solo his series if he wanted to. As the strongest esper in the entire world, there isn’t much Mob can’t do. When he’s angry and lets his subconscious manifest (referred to as ???), he’s closer to a natural disaster than a human being.

10 Reasons Mob Psycho 100 is the Best Anime in Decades
Mob Psycho 100 isn’t just an incredible anime series, it has many qualities that qualify it for ranking among the best recent anime.
There have been a few characters in the series capable of pushing Mob to his limits, but he was always holding back. Mob isn’t someone who enjoys hurting other people. When he reaches his limit, however, there is nobody who can stop him. Only his mentor, Reigen, is capable of calming him down, but who knows if Reigan can pull it off more than once?

Sung Jinwoo
Solo Leveling
Sung Jinwoo puts the Solo in Solo Leveling. He starts the series as the weakest character in it before ascending to become one of the strongest characters in Solo Leveling. His powers are so insane that his fellow S-Ranks can’t even fathom how powerful Jinwoo really is.

Why Is Solo Leveling So Good? It Turns Out 1 Episode Takes “10 Months” to Make, And That’s Not All
Solo Leveling is one of the highest quality anime in recent years, and it is all thanks to the slow and hard work of the series’ production team.
Jinwoo is the Second Shadow Monarch and the King of Death. He has died twice in Solo Leveling, and each time he dies, he only comes back stronger. He’s incredibly strong in his own right, and with his legion of immortal Shadows at his side, Jinwoo can easily take on every Hunter, monster, and Monarch in the series at once.

Alucard
Hellsing Ultimate
Alucard is an enigma in Hellsing: Ultimate. He’s the Trump Card of the powerful Hellsing Agency, operating as their strongest soldier and final resort. Alucard is death itself, referred to as a “Pitch-Black Monster”, the “Immortal King”, and the “Ultimate Undead”. In Hellsing: Ultimate, there is nothing that Alucard can’t do.
Alucard is erased from existence during the finale of the series, unable to perceive himself as a real being. He even defeats Schrödinger’s Essence, consuming the ability and giving himself the power to be everywhere and nowhere at once. Not only could Alucard solo his entire series, but no character in it could even leave a scratch on him.
4
Eren Yeager
Attack On Titan
Eren Yeager is one of the most tragic characters in anime, making Attack on Titan one of the darkest anime series of all time. Eren consumes the War Hammer, Attack, and Founding Titans, three of the strongest Titans in the series. He also enacts the Rumbling, killing 80% of the world’s population without lifting a finger.

Attack On Titan Is Complete, But I Know The One Character Who Deserves Their Own Spinoff
Attack on Titan is one of the most well-written anime series ever, but there was one character that deserved to have their backstory told.
Eren only dies in Attack on Titan because he wants to. If he wanted it the other way, he could have controlled his friends like he did the rest of the world. Eren destroyed most of the world to protect his friends, becoming evil incarnate so that they could be the heroes that saved the world.
3
Shadow
The Eminence In Shadow
The Eminence in Shadow is one of the funniest isekai series ever. It stars Shadow as one of the few characters who actually enjoys living in a new world as he’s bestowed with powers he could have only ever dreamed of. Shadow is always one step ahead of his enemies and his allies, and the funniest part is that he never means to be.
When Shadow actually wants to fight, nobody stands a chance against him. His ‘I Am Atomic’ powers put him in an entirely different league than every other character in the series. Even if everyone teamed up against him at once, Shadow could take them all out with a single blast and little to no real effort.
2
Saitama
One Punch Man
Saitama isn’t the titular One Punch Man for nothing. Even though One Punch Man is easily one of the funniest anime series of all time, Saitama is no joke. He can defeat any character with a single punch, and there has only ever been one character that needed two. If every character in the series united against Saitama, he could beat them all with less than a dozen punches.
Saitama’s punches can split the sky. He’s able to destroy entire mountains without even touching them, and his reflexes are beyond superhuman. Even if an enemy were to hit him (which they probably couldn’t), they wouldn’t be able to do any real damage. Saitama’s muscles are as absurd as his punches, making both his defense and offense unreasonably effective.
1
Zeno
Dragon Ball Super
In a world filled with some of the strongest characters in anime, Zeno stands alone as the strongest. He’s the strongest character in Dragon Ball Super by some margin. As the supreme ruler of the Multiverse and the Omni-King, Zeno can destroy entire universes with the snap of his fingers.

Dragon Ball’s most powerful character defied every single expectation, and in doing so, became the most fitting character for the role.
In the Future Trunks Saga, when Zamasu has become too much of a threat for Goku and the rest of the Z Fighters, Zeno steps in and uses ‘Erase’ to delete the entire timeline. He even deleted six whole universes when he was in a bad mood, showing just how ridiculously strong the Omni-King is.
