1000-lb Sisters season 6 star Amanda Halterman was a very different person before her weight-loss journey and her new relationship changed her. With a new outlook on life, the 44-year-old bus driver and social media influencer may be ready to take center stage on the beloved unscripted series. The show is technically about 38-year-old Tammy Slaton and 37-year-old Amy Slaton, but their siblings are on the show too, including Amanda.

Though Amanda didn’t even appear in the show during the first few seasons, she was a big part of the story during 1000-lb Sisters season 6. Amanda has never been a shrinking violet, but she’s really come into her own over the course of the last season. After struggling through several years of chaotic change, Amanda finally seems to have found her footing.

Weight-Loss Isn’t Always Linear

Like her famous younger sisters, Amanda has lost a lot of weight since appearing in 1000-lb Sisters. Unlike her other siblings, who struggled with weight their whole lives, 43-year-old Amanda was always the thin one. She gained weight after marriage and children. Amanda decided to have bariatric surgery in March 2023. This wasn’t Amanda’s first weight-loss operation. The 1000-lb Sisters season 6 star went under the knife for the first time well over a decade ago, but she ended up putting the weight back on over the years.

During the 1000-lb Sisters season 6 weigh-in, Amanda rolled up to the scale in a wheelchair. She’d recently had knee surgery and was still recovering. The injury was a real setback, as it kept her from losing more weight. At her last weigh-in, Amanda weighed 299 pounds, and at her most recent weigh-in, the scale read 268 pounds. Over the years, Amanda has lost over 200 pounds.

Amanda’s New Relationship

“Three Months And A Lifetime To Go”

After several bad breakups and being single for a while, Amanda recently posted a TikTok announcing her relationship with her new man. The post is a photo of Amanda and her new boyfriend, Leonard E Moore. “Three months and a lifetime to go,” reads Amanda’s caption. Leonard, who goes by “mellow”, is also Amanda’s new manager. The fact that Amanda has taken on new management could mean that the 1000-lb Sisters star is ready to take on more of a center stage role on the show.
