All of Jujutsu Kaisen’s Major Villains, Ranked

Warning: SPOILERS for Jujutsu Kaisen’s MangaOne of the reasons Jujutsu Kaisen has achieved global popularity is due to its powerful and charismatic villains. Gege Akutami’s work has followed the lead of great shōnen anime like Dragon Ball, Bleach, and Naruto, which over the years have featured incredible villains who have won over fans even more than the heroes themselves.

However, the sheer number of villains in Jujutsu Kaisen with unique powers makes it difficult for fans to determine who is the strongest of them all. From powerful incarnations to cursed spirits and evil sorcerers, Jujutsu Kaisen‘s major villains have had cursed techniques so overpowering and complex that they often left fans speechless with their apparent invincibility.

Eso and Kechizu

The Special Grade cursed womb brothers, Eso and Kechizu, were a tag team that appeared in the Death Painting’s arc. As cursed wombs, their fighting power was excellent, and they mastered their blood manipulation cursed techniques to create a great combined attack as both Rot and Decay acted as poisons to decompose their targets’ bodies.

Furthermore, these attacks could be combined with the Maximum: Wing King, guaranteeing a sure hit. However, Eso and Kechizu were unlucky enough to face Nobara and Yuji, who were the toughest opponents possible and could easily counter their cursed techniques. Sadly, Eso and Kechizu weren’t particularly notable among Jujutsu Kaisen‘s villains, being much weaker than their brother Choso.

Hanami

Hanami is one of the first antagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen. Hanami demonstrates astonishing durability, explosive power, reflexes, and enhanced strength, making them a formidable opponent. Furthermore, their cursed technique has extensive combat applications, allowing them to freely manipulate flowers and trees to attack and capture targets. Hanami was also difficult to defeat at first, surviving Gojo’s attack in the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc.

However, Hanami was overshadowed by the rest of the Disaster curses, having accomplished less than the others by first being cornered by the teamwork of Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo and later being brutally murdered by Gojo after stopping their domain amplification.

Dagon

Despite his initial appearance, Dagon is a fearsome special-grade cursed spirit who was capable of facing multiple sorcerers at the same time. After revealing his muscular form, Dagon proves to have outstanding strength in both close combat and long-range attacks, becoming an all-rounder enemy.

Dagon also wields a massive amount of cursed energy to infinitely summon Shikigami after activating his domain expansion. Before being defeated by Touji, Dagon battles Nanami, Maki Zenin, Naobito Zenin, and Megumi Fushiguro, seizing the arm of a Grade 1 Special Sorcerer, a feat no other Disaster Curse has achieved, which fully demonstrates his skill surpasses Hanami’s.

Naoya Zenin

Naoya inherited Projection sorcery from his father, Naobito Zenin, granting him immense speed and an advantage in close combat. Projection sorcery binds his opponents to follow the 24-frame rule, or they will be frozen for one second. This immobilization effect gives Naoya a devastating potential and offensive prowess in combat, being able to land successive blows before his opponent can react.

However, Naoya’s aggressiveness and overconfidence held him back in his fights against Choso and Maki. After his return as a cursed spirit, Naoya’s cursed technique strengthened to the point where he could reach speeds of Mach 3 and keep up with Maki, making him faster than both his father, Naobito, and Dagon, who was easily defeated by Toji.

Choso

Choso was an enemy turned ally in the Shibuya Incident Arc after he found out about his younger brother, Yuji Itadori. Choso learned to make full use of his blood manipulation cursed technique, which gives him an incredible range in battle, mixing his multiple attacks like piercing blood and supernova to trick his opponents.

Choso’s combined attacks give him unparalleled strength not only in terms of hand-to-hand fights but also in long-range firepower. Also, Choso has been shown to become even stronger when he is fighting for his brother. Choso was powerful enough to defeat Naoya Zenin, indicating that his strength is above that of a special grade 1 sorcerer.

Mahito

Jujutsu-Kaisen-Season-2-Mahito

Mahito is one of the strongest special grade cursed spirits in Jujutsu Kaisen thanks to his cursed technique, Idle Transfiguration, which allows him to modify his soul and those of the people he touches and change their bodies at will. It will only take one touch for Mahito to deform his enemies, making his ability strong enough to one-shot anyone.

In Mahito’s domain expansion, he can use Idle Transfiguration on anything inside his realm. This means Mahito’s domain serves as almost an instant death. However, as Yuji has Sukuna inside him, he becomes Mahito’s natural enemy. Mahito demonstrated his strength in his fight against Mechamaru and was able to withstand fighting both Yuji and Todo in the Shibuya Incident Arc.

Uraume

Uraume has been serving Sukuna for over 1000 years, so their strength is undeniable. During the Shibuya Incident Arc, it was made clear that Uraume was stronger than Kusakabe, making Sukuna’s right hand comparable to a special grade cursed spirit. Likewise, Uraume’s Ice Formation is a powerful cursed technique that allows them to release ice in multiple ways.

This makes Uraume’s powers incredibly versatile, as they can even surround an area with ice. While it’s difficult to judge Uraume’s strength due to the limited depictions of their abilities, they are an exceptional fighter since they were able to hold their own against Hakari. However, if they were to face Jogo, Uraume would have an elemental disadvantage.

Jogo

Jogo may not look as strong, but he just had poor luck, fighting against both Satoru Gojo and Sukuna. Jogo can manipulate flames and conjure fiery meteors powerful enough to collapse buildings, and according to Kenjaku, his strength is equivalent to eight or nine of Sukuna’s fingers, which explains why he was unable to compete with the King of Curses.

However, Jogo possesses a domain expansion with a heat capable of burning most sorcerers who enter it and was called strong by the King of Curses himself, which proves his potential. Also, although Jogo burned Maki and Naobito Zenin in an instant, which shows how fast he is, he still can’t match a top sorcerer of the Heian era.

Yorozu

Yorozu

Yorozu is a Heian period sorcerer recognized by the Fujiwara clan and considered one of the strongest of the era. This is because Yorozu overcame the weakness of low efficiency in cursed energy to take full advantage of her powerful construction technique. This was only possible due to Yorozu’s effort to develop her own fighting style inspired by insects.

Yorozu can reproduce almost anything, using her cursed technique to create a bug-like armor that grants her a power boost, and liquid metal for mid-range attacks. This unique fighting style makes Yorozu powerful enough to face Sukuna in close combat. Yorozu’s strength is backed by her intelligence; therefore, her creativity in combat gives her an advantage over Jogo.

Hiromi Higuruma

Hiromi Higuruma has an outstanding natural talent, playing an antagonistic role in the Culling Game arc before allying with Yuji and the others to fight Sukuna. Higuruma quickly mastered his domain expansion, which allows him to snatch the cursed energy from a guilty person, and he also learned to use the reversed cursed technique by himself.

The reason behind Higuruma’s incredible potential is his intellect, which allows him to analyze how techniques work after watching them once. This was seen when Higuruma mitigated Sukuna’s dismantle using Domain Amplification, which he learned after observing Satoru. Higuruma had amazing growth, as in just a few days he had already reached the level of a grade 1 sorcerer.

Although Sukuna also praised Higuruma for his talent, his ability to confiscate his opponent’s cursed energy makes him vulnerable to opponents with a naturally exceptional physical condition who don’t require cursed techniques to fight, like Kashimo and Yuji.
