Ditto is notorious in Pokémon GO for how it transforms into other Pokémon, creating disguises that make it impossible to distinguish from another creature. Unless you battle one of Ditto’s possible disguises, you’ll never have a chance to catch this elusive Normal-type. With October 2025 switching up which Pokémon Ditto might be hiding as, you may need to seek out new encounters.
Even though recent fall changes to Pokémon GO have changed a variety of aspects within the game, Ditto Disguises are still regularly updated every so often. The recent “Completely Normal” event changed many of Ditto’s normal disguises, creating a far larger pool of Pokémon you have to investigate to find the transforming creature.
All Ditto Disguises In Pokémon GO (October 2025)
12 Different Masks For Seemingly Normal Pocket Monsters
There are 12 new Ditto Disguises in October 2025, carried over from the event that changed the Pokémon that Ditto could be. Understanding which Pokémon Ditto is using as masks will help narrow down your search, allowing you to track the Pokémon through the encounter chances you would normally have with its disguise.
At this time of writing, Ditto is able to transform itself into:
- Growlithe
- Mankey
- Magnemite
- Voltorb
- Whismur
- Surskit
- Seedot
- Sentret
- Teddiursa
- Slakoth
- Buneary
- Duskull (Night Only)
Duskull is slightly harder to find, as it only tends to appear at night, but the other 11 Pokémon Ditto uses as disguises are far more common. Depending on your region, some of these Pokémon may appear in easy-to-reach locations, while others might be a little too rare to pursue consistently for Ditto.
Sites for important raids in Pokémon GO or special events tend to have Pokémon spawn in higher numbers. If one of Ditto’s disguises is among a featured Pokémon near a spot for an event, your best chance to find the transforming creature is to visit that area.
To run into a Ditto, simply start an encounter with any of the Pokémon listed above, then throw a Poké Ball at it. This will cause a message to appear, showing an “Oh?” on your screen before transforming the Pokémon you found into a Ditto. From there, you can attempt to catch the transforming creature in the same way as any other Pokémon.
How To Increase The Chances Of Finding Ditto
Try Different Tricks To Bring Out Its Disguises More
There are a variety of strategies you can use to bring about more Ditto encounters, or rather, encounters with the Pokémon it’s disguised as. To gain more access to Ditto, you want to have more of its disguised Pokémon spawn around you and the locations they typically appear.
One of the easiest ways to get more Ditto to appear is to use Daily Incense, an in-game item that causes Pokémon to spawn in greater numbers. If one of Ditto’s disguises is attracted to Incense, you’ll have more chances of running into a real Ditto eventually.
Dittos have the same Shiny odds in Pokémon GO as any other Pokémon, giving you a 1 in 64 chance to find a rarer variant of the transforming pink blob. Another similarity with Ditto is how Lures added to Poké Stops will raise the spawn rate of Ditto quickly. The number of Pokémon at these locations increases greatly from Lures, so you’ll have an easier time running into Ditto’s disguise.
Any method that brings about more Pokémon from Ditto’s disguise list will tip the scales in your favor to encounter the creature. While the Ditto Disguises for October 2025 come after a recent change in Pokémon GO, they are unlikely to be altered again until another major event.
