Although Reacher season 4 does not have an official release date yet, it has been confirmed that it will land on Prime Video in 2026. This is great news for fans of the franchise because it not only marks the return of one of the greatest modern dad shows but also suggests Prime Video is achieving one rare streaming feat.
With its first three installments, Prime Video’s Reacher has already proven to be one of the most commercially and critically successful IPs of the action thriller genre. Interestingly, though, even though all three seasons of Reacher have set an incredibly high bar so far, Alan Ritchson has promised fans that the best is yet to come.
While that is a bold claim, it is hard not to believe that Alan Ritchson is right because Reacher season 4 is adapting Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow. Not to mention, the overarching Reacher franchise is also doing one thing that only a few other TV franchises have managed to pull off in the past.
2 New Installments Of The Reacher Franchise Will Come Out In 2026
Reacher season 4 wrapped its filming towards the end of November 2025. Owing to this, it makes sense that it is set to premiere on Prime Video in 2026. Long before Reacher season 4’s filming ended, though, the upcoming Neagley spin-off’s principal photography was wrapped. According to Maria Sten’s official Instagram handle, the Neagley spin-off show‘s filming was completed by June 7, 2025.
It was also previously revealed that the Neagley spin-off show would land on Prime Video before Reacher season 4. Given how it has been close to nine months since Neagley wrapped its filming, the spinoff should be in the final stages of its post-production. Owing to this, it would be fair to believe that it will be out on Prime Video soon.
With both Reacher season 4 and the Neagley spinoff premiering on Prime Video in the same year, the detective franchise is achieving what most other modern shows struggle to. In the streaming era, several TV shows end up leaving long gaps between seasons and new installments. Some do not even get renewed months after their last installments end their runs.
The Reacher franchise, however, has been consistently churning out content. And, so far, every Reacher season has been both critically and commercially successful. While only time will tell whether Reacher season 4 and the Neagley spin-off will maintain the show’s upward trajectory, Alan Ritchson’s confidence in season 4 seemingly spells a hopeful future for the upcoming installment.
Even the Neagley spin-off seems like an exciting addition to the franchise, especially because it is not based on any existing books. Since Maria Sten’s Frances Neagley has been a mysteriously compelling character from the show’s beginning, it is hard not to be hyped about what her spin-off will bring to the table.
All in all, 2026 is going to be the best year for Reacher fans as it promises to mark the release of two of its exciting installments.
Reacher Will Cement Its Legacy If Both Season 4 & Neagley Succeed
It has been a while since Prime Video’s Bosch ended its run. However, the franchise is still going strong and maintaining its strong legacy with the ongoing spinoff, Ballard. Even with the upcoming prequel, Bosch: Start of Watch, it seems unlikely that the franchise will experience any major dips in quality. Prime Video’s Reacher, too, seems to be on the right path towards etching a similar legacy for itself.
The show has already earned unanimous acclaim with each new installment. If Reacher season 4 and the Neagley spin-off also turn out to be hits, the Prime Video franchise will have two massive shows under its name.
Bosch missed out on the opportunity to simultaneously grow Ballard with the parent series. Owing to this, Titus Welliver’s brief appearances as Harry Bosch in Ballard come off as mere nostalgic callbacks to the original series. Fortunately, for Reacher, it has the opportunity to grow Neagley along with the parent series, which will be mutually beneficial for both shows.
Hopefully, both Reacher season 4 and the Neagley spin-off will turn out to be as good as one expects them to be and further cement the franchise’s legacy as one of the best modern additions to the crime thriller genre.
