Report, result and goals as spirited Spurs fight for huge point

Liverpool were denied what would have been a timely win as Richarlison equalised deep into stoppage time to earn a battling Tottenham draw at Anfield.

The tone was set early when Dominik Szoboszlai produced another moment of individual brilliance on 18 minutes.

Mac Allister was fouled on the edge of the box and the Hungarian stepped up from 25 yards, curling a superb effort over the wall and in despite Vicario getting a glove on it.

It was his fourth direct free-kick goal in the Premier League this season, a new club record for a single campaign.

Liverpool had further chances to extend their lead before the break. Gakpo struck the base of the post with Vicario beaten, Gravenberch curled just wide, and 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha went close on several occasions.

Richarlison twice threatened for Spurs, forcing a desperate Alisson save from a header late in the half.

The second half saw Liverpool create without converting. Salah, introduced on 64 minutes, came closest, pulling a strike across the face of goal and wide after a superb run in behind.

Wirtz, Ekitike and Ngumoha all went close without finding the finish.

Spurs barely threatened until the 90th minute.

Vicario’s long punt forward was brought down superbly by substitute Randal Kolo Muani, who held off both Robertson and Van Dijk to lay the ball into the path of Richarlison.

The Brazilian took one touch and slotted past Alisson, his fifth Premier League goal at Anfield, a record among visiting players behind only Andy Cole.

The point does little for Tottenham’s survival hopes, but it provides a huge momentum boost as they look to escape danger.
