Other than giving us two (admittedly very entertaining) trailers, Rockstar has remained pretty silent on the details surrounding the launch of GTA VI in November of this year.
That vacuum of actual information has left a void that’s ripe to be filled with speculation, and fans have been obliging in filling it. Everything from the content of the story to the weapons and vehicles set to be included have been up for debate, and it has actually been quite good fun discussing all the potential the game has.
One of the biggest areas of contention, though, has been exactly how much the developer and publisher are planning to charge consumers for the finished product. Given how ambitious it is, they likely have some wiggle room, but there’s definitely a limit to what most gamers would be willing to stomach, regardless of how good it is.
How Much Are You Willing To Pay For GTA 6?
Over on Reddit, one fan asked the community exactly how much they would be willing to pay for GTA VI, when it does eventually drop in November of this year. The OP even claimed that their upper limit would be $120, which is significantly beyond any standard edition game we have seen in any console generation to date.
That said, the top comment by a long distance under the original post was only willing to part with $70 of their hard-earned money, in an estimate that’s much more in line with normal AAA games in 2026.
There were plenty who agreed with that position, with one saying, “The normal price for games. Don’t let any corporation raise the base price or everyone else will try to follow. Even if their product isn’t a gem like GTA VI. Should’ve stayed at 60, but now you’ve got companies toying with 70 and 80 dollar games.”
“I’m not spending more than $70 (+tax), I couldn’t care less about Online, so I’m getting it solely for the single player and if 5 is anything to go off of, after beating the story and the side content, there really won’t be much of a reason to pick it back up,” another added.
GTA 6’s Price Tag Is Sure To Be Unveiled Soon
Given that we’re less than a year out from release, the price of the game should be released in fairly short order. The IDs for the game were recently added to the PlayStation Store, which is usually the first step in the process for that platform, so if we stay patient over the next couple of months, Rockstar will likely make the price of GTA VI clear before the Summer hits.
