Scream 7 is burning it all down at the box office.
The Kevin Williamson-directed slasher sequel, which is the latest installment in the 30-year-old franchise, may be succeeding because it includes many familiar faces. The Scream 7 cast features the return of Neve Campbell (after she sat out 2023’s Scream VI amid a pay dispute), Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Matthew Lillard opposite an ensemble of franchise newcomers.
Per Variety, as of Sunday morning, Scream 7 is expected to earn a 3-day total of $97.2 million worldwide by the end of its debut weekend on Sunday. That total comprises $64.1 million from domestic theaters (which is the best domestic debut of the franchise, beating Scream VI‘s $44.4 million debut, and the best domestic debut of 2026 so far) and an additional $33.1 million from international markets.
This sees it squeaking past the $97.1 million earned by the entire global run of 2011’s Scream 4, making it the sixth highest-grossing movie in the franchise after just three days in theaters.
