Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is close to signing a new contract beyond the end of June.
The Englishman had a tough start to the campaign and he was sidelined for several weeks with a hamstring injury.
His fortunes have changed since Michael Carrick took charge as interim boss at the beginning of the year.
Maguire was reinstated into the first XI against Manchester City last month and has been in fine form since.
United are now prepared to reward him for his progress and he will likely pen a new deal beyond the summer.
Maguire currently earns around £190,000 per week and he is bound to accept a pay-cut for a new contract.
While Maguire is likely to stay put, the same won’t be the case for Casemiro, who will leave on a free transfer.
The Brazilian is confirmed to depart when his contract concludes on June 30 and there are no plans to prolong his stay.
