Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has confirmed a hamstring injury for Estevao ahead of the Premier League derby against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium next weekend.
The Blues have stumbled in the league over the past two games. They squandered a 2-0 advantage to share the spoils against Leeds United last weekend at Stamford Bridge.
They suffered another setback against Burnley today. The Clarets scored a dramatic 93rd-minute equaliser (1-1). Estevao was absent for the contest and Rosenior has revealed that he has a hamstring injury.
Rosenior said: “Unfortunately yesterday in the training session, he felt awareness in his hamstring. At the moment we are scanning it to make sure it’s nothing too serious.”
Estevao’s concern does not appear to be serious, but he is a big doubt to face the Gunners on the road. The Blues are unlikely to risk him and could feature him on the bench at best.
Chelsea dropped costly points against the Clarets. They now face a daunting schedule with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle United, Manchester City and Manchester United to tackle in the next six league games.
