Chelsea will look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they host struggling Burnley this afternoon.

The Blues squandered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Leeds in their last league outing, although they did enjoy a 4-0 FA Cup victory at Hull last Friday night.

Burnley arrive needing points and quickly if they are to stave off an immediate return to the Championship.

Scott Parker’s side won on their last visit to the capital – 3-2 at Crystal Palace on February 11 – but then immediately lost any momentum gained with a dismal 2-1 defeat at home to League One side Mansfield.

The stats for Chelsea v Burnley

  • Chelsea have lost just one of their 19 Premier League games against Burnley (W13 D5), going down 3-2 at home on the opening weekend of the 2017-18 season.
  • Burnley have conceded at least twice in each of their last eight Premier League away games against London sides. They did, however, beat Crystal Palace 3-2 last time out, only once before winning consecutive visits to the capital in the same season (vs Crystal Palace and West Ham in 2019-20).
  • Chelsea have dropped more points from winning positions in Premier League home games than any other side this season (15). Indeed, only in 1995-96 (20) and 2015-16 (16) have they dropped more at Stamford Bridge in a single campaign.
  • No team has scored in more different Premier League games than Chelsea this season (24), with the Blues’ only two blanks coming in goalless draws against Crystal Palace in August and Bournemouth in December.
