Hargreaves on Madueke

Former Premier League star Owen Hargreaves has heaped praise on Noni Madueke following Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup fourth round at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners were favourites to beat the Latics at the Emirates Stadium and did so in convincing fashion with four quick-fire goals in the opening half.

Noni Madueke started the scoring for the Gunners in the 11th minute and continued to impress for the London giants until his substitution.

Speaking after the 4-0 rout, Hargreaves was really impressed by the performance of the Englishman and described him as a great and smart player.

He said on TNT Sports: “Noni Madueke is a great player – he is a smart player, and he is a goalscorer. Again, today, his awareness of when to link play short and when to play in behind was terrific.”

Madueke has started the last two matches across all competitions on the right wing for the Gunners, scoring in both.

Despite this, Bukayo Saka could get the nod in the role when Arsenal take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Wednesday.
