Steam Quietly Drops “10/10” Free Game You Can Download And Keep Forever

Steam is doing a pretty good job of delivering on the free-game front this year. There’s a ton of variety on offer when it comes to genres, as well as solo and multiplayer experiences.

For instance, on Steam, you can now pick up a game that some users are calling a “10/10” for free. As the listing even denotes, there are no strings attached to this one.

Monday Meltdown Is Steam’s Latest Free Hit

It’s “8-Player Mayhem”

If you’re a fan of Hotline Miami, you may want to take note of Monday Meltdown. It’s an eight-player top-down shooter, complete with killing sprees and multiple maps. Unlockables include character and weapon skins, as well as taunts and custom “killphrases.” “In-game secrets” that unlock skins are also teased. All of this is free, and that free version isn’t a demo or a trial.

If you’re interested in supporting the game, you can do that by picking up the “supporter edition” DLC for $1.74, which is cosmetic: “Firstly, thank you so much for even checking this out – this is a DLC meant for the player’s who want to show support for Monday Meltdown! This DLC contains 4 new players skins, 4 new taunts, 4 new kill-phrases and 5 new golden weapon skins of the first weapons to ever be implemented in the game. The in-game scoreboard will showcase your awesomeness by having it mention you support the game.”

It’s not a bad approach at all, which is part of the reason why the user reviews have been so positive. Monday Meltdown has even been getting updates, as well as community challenges.

Some Gamers Are Calling It A 10/10

User Reviews Are Positive So Far

So far, user reviews are flowing in, and the game is marked at “very positive” at the time of publication. After launching its full release this week following an Early Access period, fans seem to be digging it: “Really fun game, super friendly dev + discord community (there are even giveaways and competitions!) I’m really excited how this game will turn out in the future: 10/10.”

According to one user, it’s fun even without friends to play with: “Great game to play with friends, or even just against bots. combat is fun and well thought out, each weapon has its own benefits over others, and progress feels rewarding with skins and taunts. game is still being updated, so look out for those.”

Here’s another endorsement for solo play: “Pretty good game, played it with friends for a bit and solo as well, liked the gameplay and how smooth the game felt, really allowed me to lash out all my pent up anger, apart from the lack of AAA graphics, I liked the game, 10/10 will be playing again”

If you’re looking for a new multiplayer game or just have an itch to play something like Hotline Miami, head over to Steam and pick up Monday Meltdown. You don’t have much to lose from a monetary standpoint.
