Manchester United are planning to monitor the performance of Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu ahead of a possible approach this summer, according to Tuttosport.

The Red Devils primarily focused on strengthening their attack last summer, and they are likely to concentrate on the defensive department at the end of the campaign.

The primary focus could be on the defensive midfield set-up but a versatile defender could be signed too. Tuttosport now claim that Kalulu has emerged as a target for United.

The Red Devils are expected to monitor the performance of Kalulu during the weekend league clash between Juventus and Inter Milan.

The club already have a positive perception on the Frenchman, who can comfortably operate in the central defensive and right-back roles.

However, they are prepared to watch him closely on the big stage before contemplating a possible move at the end of the ongoing season.

Kalulu could be sold for a bargain fee in the region of 30 million euros, particularly if Juventus don’t qualify for the Champions League.
