January’s attacking superstars who have made an immediate impact at their new clubs

While the January transfer window might have only slammed shut less than a fortnight ago, plenty of the Premier League’s new recruit have certainly hit the ground running.

With many of England’s elite once again breaking the bank, plenty of the biggest name arrivals have made quite the immediate impact at their respective new homes.

With battles at both ends of the Premier League table looking like they could go right down to the wire, we have taken a look at January’s attacking superstars who have made a dominant start to their new adventures.

Antoine Semenyo – Manchester City

While Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland might be cruising his way to yet another Premier League Golden Boot this season, Pep Guardiola had made it clear ahead of the January transfer window that he was looking to add attacking reinforcements.

With the former Barcelona boss making it clear that Antoine Semenyo was his number one target, the Ghanian international has enjoyed a sensational run since completing a £65million move from Bournemouth.

In what was a record sale for the Cherries as Manchester City met his release clause, the one-time Bristol City youngster has quickly established himself as a key figure at the Etihad.

Recording a goal and assist during City’s 3-0 victory against Fulham on Wednesday night, Semenyo has firmly cemented his spot as January’s ultimate new recruit.

In fact, City’s new attacking ace has registered eight direct goal contributions in his opening nine domestic appearances for Guardiola’s side across all competitions (six goals, two assists).

Finding the net in three of his first four showdowns at the Etihad, Semenyo now has his sights set on helping City recapture their Premier League crown this season.

Rayan – Bournemouth

Watching Semenyo complete that record-breaking move to Man City last month, fans around the Vitality were left heartbroken and many were wondering who would spearhead their attack going forward.

However, although Brazilian wondered Rayan might have been seen as someone who would initially need some time to find his feet among England’s elite, few would have expected the immediate impact that 19-year-old sensation has made.

With Bournemouth agreeing to pay an initial £24.7m on a five-and-a-half year deal which also includes £5.6m in potential add-ons, the former Vasco da Gama youngster has enjoyed a record-breaking start to life on the south coast.

Producing another clinical finish during Bournemouth’s comeback 2-1 victory away at Everton earlier in the week, Rayan has now bagged consecutive Premier League strikes.

Likewise, recording a top-flight assist on his Premier League debut during the Cherries’ 2-0 win against Wolves on January 31st, the 19-year-old joins just Robbie Keane and Anthony Martial as just the third teenager to register a goal or assist in each of their first three appearances.

Jorgen Strand Larsen – Crystal Palace

Notching 14 Premier League goals last season in what was his maiden campaign after joining from Spanish outfit Celta Vigo, Wolves made it abundantly clear over the summer that they had no interest in letting go of the Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Rejecting approaches from the likes of West Ham, the Old Gold made it clear that the 26-year-old was the man to once again drag them to Premier League safety.

However, quickly becoming the poster boy for Wolves’ infamous relegation scrap and only registering a single strike in any of his 22 Premier League appearances, Strand Larsen made it clear that he wanted out of Molineux.

Completing a blockbuster Deadline Day switch to Crystal Palace for a reported fee that could reach £48million, the 24-cap international arrived in south London with a hefty price tag.

Although Oliver Glasner’s side might have suffered a woeful collapse at home against Burnley on Wednesday night as they slumped to a 3-2 loss at Selhurst Park, Strand Larsen did bag both consolation strikes and Palace fans will be excited to have their new number nine at his clinical best.
