Prime Video‘s returning crime thriller series notes down another successful case.
Prime Video’s 2-season detective series is a major streaming sensation worldwide after just one day of its arrival on the streaming service. The streamer is no stranger to successful thriller series, as Prime Video’s best shows include projects like Reacher, The Terminal List, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and many more. Recently, one of the most bingeworthy Prime Video series to find success was The Night Manager.
Despite a solid roster of new crime thriller series in 2026, which include shows like Sophie Turner’s Steal, the Prime Video series to find global streaming success is a 2-year-old show. Cross follows the story of Aldis Hodge’s Alex Cross, a homicide detective grappling with the murder of his wife and the high stress of having to deal with killer after killer. All that takes a toll on him.
According to FlixPatrol, Cross is currently the 5th most-watched TV show on Prime Video worldwide. That means the crime thriller series has found instant success on the streaming service, as Cross season 2 debuted on Prime Video on February 11, 2026, with its first three episodes. The gritty series’ new season consists of eight episodes, like season 1, with the remaining episodes releasing every Wednesday.
Cross‘s strong performance on Prime Video sees the returning show leave behind other popular thriller series, such as Tom Hiddleston’s The Night Manager and All Her Fault, which became the most-watched Peacock Original in the United States of all time. The four shows that rank above it on Prime Video globally are Spring Fever, Steal, Fallout, and in 1st, Beast Games.
The Prime Video crime thriller series is trending in 38 countries. At the moment, Cross is not the most-watched TV show on Prime Video in any of them, but given how season 2 has only been available on the streaming service for one day, the crime thriller series should climb higher in the charts soon.
Cross ranks as high as #2 in three countries: Austria, Germany, and South Africa. The series has also found success nationwide in its return. At the time of writing, Cross is the 3rd most-watched TV show on Prime Video in the United States. The only two series to rank higher than Aldis Hodge’s star vehicle are Beast Games and Fallout.
Cross season 2 has not only found success on streaming, but it is also a hit with critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, Cross season 2 currently has a 90% critics’ score. In ScreenRant‘s Cross season 2 review, Nick Bythrow, who gave the show a 7 out of 10 rating, said, “Cross season 2 delivers a strong follow-up to Aldis Hodge’s Prime Video crime thriller.” Cross season 3 has yet to be announced.
