Avengers: Secret Wars will finally be going into production this summer, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon be wrapping up The Multiverse Saga. With only a few upcoming Marvel movies left for Phase 6, the MCU is getting ready to conclude its massive multiverse arc within the next year.

In a new interview with CinemaBlend, Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry had a fun laugh about why Storm is seemingly not in Avengers: Doomsday, as the X-Men alum has denied that she is back for the December 2026 release. When the outlet asked if Thor is relieved that the mutant heroine isn’t part of the story, given their power similarities, the Australian actor said, “No, I was bummed.”

Hemsworth continued by sharing how “I think [Thor would] be like, ‘Oh, we’re the same. We have something in common, the incredible wielding of the weather patterns talent.’” He concluded by saying, “I’m gonna make sure [Halle is] in the next one,” as in having her part of the Avengers: Secret Wars cast.

When Berry spoke with ScreenRant’s own Todd Gilchrist, the Oscar-winning actor alluded that there could be a future for her version of Storm in the MCU despite not being in Avengers: Doomsday. Given how most of the Avengers: Secret Wars cast hasn’t been announced yet, it’s possible she is one of the actors lined up for the 2027 finale.

It’s also key to take into account that the Avengers: Doomsday cast will be undergoing additional photography this spring before working on the next team-up film, which starts shooting in the summer. That could always lead to more surprise returns for the MCU timeline.

Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to open in theaters on December 17, 2027, while Avengers: Doomsday arrives this year on December 18. The next MCU movie release will be Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31.
