Timber could miss Black Cats game

Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber could be sidelined for the Premier League clash against Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Gunners are currently six points clear at the top of the standings and have the opportunity to extend their advantage with a victory over the Black Cats.

Ahead of the game, there could be as many as four key players sidelined.

Mikel Merino has been ruled out for the next few weeks with a foot injury.

Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard are nursing muscle injuries as of now.

Alongside them, Timber could be sidelined, having missed the open training session on Thursday. It was probably due to workload management.

Manager Mikel Arteta has handled his players with extra caution and it won’t be a surprise if the Dutchman is not in the matchday squad.

Ben White has been an unused substitute in the last two matches, and he could break into the starting XI at right-back against Sunderland.
