It’s not been the easiest time for Fallout fans, who recently found themselves more than a little let-down when the mysterious countdown clock that was set to go live after the finale of the TV series turned out to have nothing to do with the rumored Fallout 3 remaster. Unfortunately for Bethesda, who just made a slew of announcements, those fans have just about had enough,

In case you missed it yesterday, Bethesda announced a handful of surprises. The first is that Fallout 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this month. We’re also getting Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on Nintendo’s new console this year. In any other circumstances, welcome news! But after all the waiting and hoping for Fallout 3 Remastered? Well, it didn’t go down so great.

Fallout 3 Fans Are Losing It

Can’t say I blame them

Bethesda released one trailer for all three games, and the comments below paint a pretty clear picture of where the fans are currently at, mentally speaking. Clearly, gamers want one thing, and that’s Fallout 3 Remastered.

“‘We hope you enjoy the journey’—The exact same journey we’ve already been on for almost 15 YEARS NOW!” reads the top comment in response to Fallout 4‘s re-release. Fallout 4 still has a way to go to beat Skyrim in terms of re-releases, but we’re definitely getting there.

“Where’s the Fallout 3 and NV remasters, Todd?” another comment asked. In fact, this was one of a few dozen comments asking this exact question with varying degrees of politeness.

“All we wanted to go with the Fallout TV series was FO3 and FONV remakes,” one fan added, while another chimed in: “You know this isn’t what we want, Todd.” I don’t think Todd actually reads the comments, but I may be wrong.

I Guess I’m Playing Fallout 4 Again

It’ll pass the time

While I’m pretty confident we are still going to get a Fallout 3 Remastered at some point this or next year, I’m cool with playing Fallout 4 again in the meantime. The Nintendo Switch 2 release will come with all six DLCs and over 150 Creation Club items included, but obviously won’t have mod support like the PlayStation or Xbox versions of the game.

For now, Fallout fans will just have to wait and keep the hope alive. Although judging by some of the comments under that last Bethesda announcement, it’s clear patience has all but worn out.
