Turf Wars Is An Official New Game You Probably Missed

Cyberpunk 2077 is truly the game that keeps on giving, but at some point you’ll have seen everything the game has to offer. So, what exactly are we to do while we wait for the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077? We know CD Projekt RED is hard at work on the follow-up, but that’s years away.

Fortunately, there are lots of ways to remain active in Night City. There’s a ton of great expanded media, plenty of mods, and even a few new spinoff games. While the Cyberpunk 2077 Trading Card Game is probably the big one to look forward, there’s one new Cyberpunk 2077 adventure that may have completely flown under your radar.

Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars Is A Brand-New Game

Any excuse to go back to Night City

Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars may have passed you by for one surprising reason: it’s a largely analogue game that you’ll only be able to find in arcades. Turf Wars was released last year, and is an arcade game that lives inside a massive cabinet with a focus on shooting and racking up the highest score possible.

Here’s the official description from the manufacturer, LAI Games:

“Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars combines the iconic world of CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 with innovative arcade gameplay for an unforgettable experience. Featuring projection mapping technology, the game seamlessly integrates vivid video visuals with physical targets, creating an immersive battleground where players engage in explosive, high-energy combat.”

According to players who have managed to find one in an arcade over the last few months, Turf Wars is actually a really fun experience. Unfortunately, it’s still not currently that widely available, so maybe write to your local arcade (if you have one) and ask them very nicely to put an order in. If there’s enough interest, they might just get one in.

Stay Busy Until Cyberpunk 2 Arrives

Because who knows when that will be?

As far as we’re currently aware, Cyberpunk 2 is still at least five years away. The Witcher 4 is, of course, the main focus right now, although I do find it genuinely entertaining to note that Cyberpunk 2077 is probably the bigger franchise right now.

A 2030 release window might hurt a little bit now, but if you really love Cyberpunk 2077 and want your next Night City fix, you could do a lot worse than try and track down your nearest Turf Wars cabinet.
