After making threats claiming that he had placed pipe bombs around Disneyland ahead of JD Vance’s visit, a 22-year-old Californian man has been arrested, and he is facing charges. He stated that, due to his political beliefs, he intended to do harm to JD Vance and his family at the popular Californian theme park.

Taking to the social media platform Instagram, Marco Antonio Aguayo foolishly posted about plans to kill JD Vance at Disneyland. He made the treats before the VPs’ visit on 12 July 1015. Aguayo faced a jury on 15 January and was found guilty. The 22-year-old has been charged with making threats against the President and successors to the Presidency.

The young man decided to make the threats after a surprise visit was announced by the Vice President on his visit to California. The theme park had not initially been on the schedule for his arrival. His decision to stay at the resort prompted protests and a large media presence outside the hotel where he was rumored to be staying.

Aguayo attracted the attention of local law enforcement by posting rumors that he had placed pipe bombs around Disneyland, intended to harm JD Vance. The first stated that the explosives were on the grounds of Disneyland. The second was a call to action for other activists to rise. The final one challenged anyone to find their locations.

“Good luck finding all of them on time there will be bloodshed tonight, and we will bathe in the blood of corrupt politicians.”

The comments were posted on the official Instagram page for Disneyland, and they didn’t go unnoticed. Local police and security were informed of the 22-year-old’s claims. Special forces immediately visited him. However, when they arrived, he had already deleted the posts and claimed to know nothing about them.

A search of Disneyland was also performed, but the threats did not affect the park’s operations that day, according to a spokesperson.

However, under further questioning, he admitted that he had written them. A search of his phone found the three deleted messages. The affidavit states that he maintained it was all just a joke, albeit a poorly thought-out one. According to the document, “He claimed that he intended it merely as a joke to provoke attention and laughter.”

In the U.S., threats of violence, especially against members of the government, have to be taken seriously, given the country’s track record. The law didn’t see the funny side of the Disneyland pipe bomb threat, and Aguayo had to face the courts. He faces a statutory maximum sentence of five years in federal prison.
