With plenty of Netflix subscribers having binged the first six seasons, there’s a huge demand for Black Mirror season 7 news. Created by Charlie Brooker, the series takes a look at the potential dark sides of modern technology and the disturbing places these advancements could be taking humanity. With new directors and actors used in each episode, the show tells a wide variety of exciting and thought-provoking stories. Black Mirror began in 2011 as a British series before continuing on as a Netflix original series.
Black Mirror season 6 offered a new collection of episodes from directors like Toby Haynes and John Crowley, and featuring actors like Annie Murphy, Josh Hartnett, and Zazie Beetz. However, season 6 also strayed from the expected Black Mirror format, with less of a focus on technology at the center of the stories and episodes that take place, not just in the near future, but also in the past. The change in approach was met with mixed reactions from viewers and there are many wondering what these changes mean for Black Mirror season 7.

Netflix’s hit anthology series is set to arrive on April 10, 2025, and the new season will run six total episodes. As is the case with Netflix original series, all six episodes will arrive on the same day, and can be viewed along with all six previous seasons, which now stream exclusively on the platform.
Along with the release date, Netflix dropped a full trailer for Black Mirror season 7, and it is simultaneously revealing and mysterious. The nearly three-minute trailer has a clear through-line involving games, and one of the upcoming episodes will involve a video game that pushes the boundaries of the player’s moral judgement. This section includes the surprise reveal of Will Poulter, who is reprising his role as Colin Ritman from Bandersnatch. Other clips show Issa Rae’s character being sent into a vintage black-and-white AI world, a well as Rashida Jones selling a children’s cereal.

Black Mirror Season 7 Story Details
A Sequel To “USS Callister” Has Been Announced
Though the plots of all six episodes of Black Mirror season 7 haven’t been announced yet, the trailer paints a somewhat clearer picture of where the season is going. As an anthology, all six episodes of season 7 will be different stories, though season 7 will feature a follow-up to “USS Callister” from season 4. Continuing the trend of exploring the ethics of burgeoning technology, one episode involves a video game that causes violence among its players, and seems to be a sequel to Bandersnatch because of the return of Will Poulter’s Colin Ritman.
“USS Callister” was episode 1 of Black Mirror season 4.
Another episode follows a woman who sells cereal to children, but she may be some sort of android or augmented human. A superhero-themed tale was hinted at in the trailer, though very few details about that episode were shown. A story involving AI movie characters factored heavily into the trailer, and it involved Issa Rae’s character going into a black and white film to interact with the characters who think they’re real.
