Right before the end of 2025, President Donald Trump decided to get one last jab at George Clooney and his wife, Amal, on Truth Social before the new year.

This time, the President of the United States commented on the actor and his wife’s new French citizenship, expressing relief that they’re gone and calling them failures. He went on to attack Clooney’s acting skills and his films, calling them mediocre.

Trump also accused France of struggling with crime control due to its immigration policies and just slammed the European country’s government as a whole. The president’s Truth Social post also dragged a ton of his Democratic critics, including former President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Tim Walz. Check out his post below:

Good News! George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, have officially become citizens of France which is, sadly, in the midst of a major crime problem because of their absolutely horrendous handling of immigration, much like we had under Sleepy Joe Biden. Remember when Clooney, after the now infamous debate, dumped Joe during a fundraiser, only to go onto the side of another stellar candidate, Jamala(K!), who is now fighting it out with the worst governor in the Country, including Tim Waltz, Gavin Newscum, for who is going to lead the Democrats to their future defeat. Clooney got more publicity for politics than he did for his very few, and totally mediocre, movies. He wasn’t a movie star at all, he was just an average guy who complained, constantly, about common sense in politics. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

These comments followed The New York Times and several other outlets confirming that France had granted citizenship to Clooney, his wife, and his children. The family still hold their US citizenships and has not mentioned any plans to renounce them.

Trump’s post appeared to be triggered by a discussion Clooney had with Variety while promoting his new film, Jay Kelly. During the interview, he spoke about his past interactions with him. He stated that he knew him well back in the day, and they actually had a good relationship. He claimed that they spoke to each other a lot and that Trump even helped him get into a hospital for surgery. But the actor added that everything changed after he got into politics, which is likely the part that the president took personally.
