Maresca on Jackson & Madueke

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke could return to first-team action soon.

The Blues have been hampered by forward injuries over the past few weeks, but there could be good news after the international break.

Speaking in today’s press conference, Maresca said that both Jackson and Madueke could return to the mix in early April.

He said: “[Nicolas Jackson] could be back after the international break, Noni [Madueke] also. It’s good news. We can recover energy and players and go for the last sprint.”

The Blues secured a 2-1 win over Copenhagen during the first leg of the Conference League round of 16 last week.

Chelsea welcome them to Stamford Bridge tomorrow. They should be overwhelming favourites to beat the Danish side.

After this, the Blues will make the short trip across London to face rivals Arsenal in a Premier League derby on Sunday.

The Blues will be aiming to beat the Gunners such that they can stay in the top four heading into the international break.
