Netflix’s New 3-Part Horror Series Is the Perfect One-Night Binge, Now #1 Worldwide

Once you’ve finished with all the classic holiday movies and series this Christmas, there’s only one show on Netflix that’s truly worth binge-watching – a brand new 3-part horror series that’s currently the #1 trending show on the planet.

Netflix has a wide array of great streaming options this week, whether it’s nostalgic classics like The Closer or action-packed originals with festive themes like Black Doves. That said, this viral series will undoubtedly be the biggest streaming hit this week and is worth binge-watching right now more than any other show on the platform.

Stranger Things Is A Must-Binge On Netflix This Weekend

Most Netflix subscribers are likely aware of Stranger Things’ season 5 rollout this holiday season, but may be uncertain about when and how to actually watch all the newly released episodes. After its 4-part premiere on Thanksgiving 2025, three of the four remaining episodes of Stranger Things’ fifth and final season will drop on Christmas Day at 8 PM ET, followed by the series finale on New Year’s Eve.

If you have yet to start Stranger Things season 5 but are all caught up on season 4, then binge-watching Netflix’s most-watched series of all time sounds like a great and cozy way to spend your Christmas Day. That way, you’ll be all caught up in time for the 3-part release on Christmas night, prepared to binge all the new episodes (which have a total runtime of 3 hours and 29 minutes) in just one night.

Stranger Things will be remembered as a landmark series not only on Netflix but on all streaming services for an entire generation. Like the Game of Thrones finale, people will look back years from now and remember where they were when they watched the last few episodes of Stranger Thingswhich is why you don’t want to miss it this week.

A streaming “event” drop like Stranger Things season 5 doesn’t come around very often on Netflix. It’s really one of those series that’s best enjoyed by keeping up with the internet buzz and reaction in real-time. Not starting Stranger Things season 5, episode 5, right at 8 PM on Christmas Day automatically places you behind the rest of the world – and increases the risk of major spoilers being leaked online.

Considering the major FOMO factor involved here, and the rarity of an event drop like Stranger Things’ final season, it really is imperative for all fans of the series to binge the new episodes as soon as they become available. Following its season 5 premiere performance, which became the biggest streaming release by racking up nearly 8.5 billion minutes viewed in its first week, Stranger Things is an SR-certified must-binge series this weekend.
