Warning! Spoilers ahead for Green Lantern Corps #2!Another wrinkle has been added to an iconic Green Lantern and made them even more tragic than they were before. The Green Lantern Corps may be back together, but they’re facing a real uphill battle. But as sad as it is to say, one Lantern’s tragedy may ultimately be an asset.
In Green Lantern Corps #2 by Jeremy Adams, Morgan Hampton, Fernando Pasarin, and Oclair Albert, several Green Lanterns have ventured to Thanagar, where the remnants of the Red Lantern Corps are mining the planet for Nth metal. However, during their excavation, the ex-Red Lanterns are overcome with sadness thanks to the arrival of Sorrow.
Sorrow uses his empathetic powers to make everyone around him grieve and cry. But interestingly enough, Green Lantern Kilowog seems immune. Sorrow is confused at how Kilowog manages to resist Sorrow’s empathetic abilities, but Kilowog says he accepted sorrow being a fact of life years ago.
